This is the mouse July 10, 2010 tonyd (new york, ny) So I am probably the only person who bought this mouse for work- it is an incredibly precise device. Because you can disengage the little clicker in the scroll wheel you can fly through really long databases of documents. You can also keep the wheel spinning at low speeds and kind of skim along when going through long and mostly irrelevant docs until you find what you are there to read.
It was expensive and looks sorta dorky, but completely completely worth it.
Best Mouse Ever! June 8, 2010 f_train (US) I've gone through my fair share of computer mouses and this is by far the best one yet. I originally bought it for gaming, but then I started to realize how great it is for every day use. It's extremely comfortable and they give you two sizes of arch for your palm. It is also adjustable by weight for people who want a heavier feeling mouse. It also has different color LEDs on the mouse and it has levels of sensitivity for how fast/slow you want your mouse to react for when you move it. It's simply the best mouse I have ever owned! In fact, I'm so not used to other mouses that I'm tempted to buy one to use at work because it's just that comfortable. The price is a bit steep but after you use it for a few minutes, you'll agree that it was worth the price tag.
Awesome gaming mouse but has its cons May 29, 2010 SSJ7 GOKU (Cupertino) I used this mouse for windows and mac. Let me just say that on windows, it is GREAT. I love the ability to change the LED colors, changing the dpi on the fly like my old g5, and i love the feeling of it under my hand. Overall its a great mouse but has two cons:
1. For mac, its useless, no drivers or utilities. AND the sensitivity feels "off," the pointer accelerates at odd speeds and throws me off, I'm used to it now but I cannot play SC2,HoN, or DoTA with it well.
2. On the underside of the mouse, the mouse glides on plastic pads. These plastic pads have been beginning to scrap off and look disgusting, gathering grime and whatnot. I have to flip it and clean it every 2 weeks or so. On my old g5, this was NEVER a problem, the teflon pads were super smooth on the g5.
I dont mind cleaning my mouse, and I only game on windows now (MW2/BF2). I got this mouse for 23 bucks and so I aint complain'n. If the g500 and g9 were the same price, I'd get the g500 anyday.
Not bad not great May 20, 2010 Todd K. Hartman This is a good mouse, well designed, however I find it to be either too sensitive or dull, with no in between, especially when playing shooters. The 3200 dpi is not usable and too sensitive, so it is technology that simply cannot be used. Personally, I prefer the G5 model. That said, this mouse is good, just not great in my opinion, and not what I expected, which was improvement.
Worst Mouse Ever May 1, 2010 Dustin Pearce (Walnut Creek, Ca United States) I have had a lot of mice. I am a gamer and I use corded mice on my laptop. I have owned TWO of these G9 mice and both disintegrated in a few months. They have a cord that snags and comes apart and ultimately you lose the connection. This may be different for desktops, but if you are using this mouse with laptop like me for gaming, then you are going to have buy another one in a few months. The G5 worked better and lasted way longer. Don't waste your money. I did. Twice.
